February marked the conclusion of the second annual Basketball Roam Series—and what a journey it was. Bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever, this year’s series wasn’t just about showcasing elite talent—it was about building legacy, amplifying youth voices, and igniting future greatness.
We were proud to partner with a star-studded roster of student-athletes who represented the future of the game with their talent, skill, and undeniable presence. Among them were ESPN-ranked prospects Cam Ward (Top 50, Class of 2025), Qayden Samuels (Top 15, Class of 2026), Darius Bivins (Top 50, Class of 2026), Price-Alexander Moody (Top 75, Class of 2026), and Jamaal McKnight Jr. (Top 50, Class of 2027). On the girls’ side, we had the pleasure of working with Nyla Brooks (Top 15, Class of 2025), Qandace Samuels (Top 10, Class of 2027), Makayla Johnson (Top 150, Class of 2025), and Nadeya Regala (Top 150, Class of 2025). These rising stars are setting new standards—each blazing their own trail.
As we reflect on the power of this year’s Roam Series, we want to honor the seniors who demonstrated undeniable talent on the court, passion for the game, and a drive to elevate those around them. Senior forward Cam Ward is headed to Michigan State after winning his second consecutive Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year award and capturing back-to-back Maryland state championships—ending a storybook high school career. Nyla Brooks, the Girls Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year, capped her journey with a selection to the prestigious McDonald’s All American Game and will be taking her talents to the University of North Carolina after winning back-to-back VISAA state championships. Nadeya Regala produced a strong senior campaign, helping her team reach the WCAC finals before falling to nationally ranked Bishop McNamara. She will continue her journey at Towson University. Her teammate, Makayla Johnson, brought depth and versatility to a strong Elizabeth Seton squad and will continue her career at George Mason University.
As we bid farewell to these incredible student-athletes, we now turn our eyes to the future—and it’s already in motion. The juniors and sophomores are not just waiting for their moment; they’re creating it.
The underclassmen didn’t just show up—they showed out.
Qayden Samuels, the highest-ranked boys’ athlete in this year’s Roam Series, cemented his place among the nation’s elite. A First Team All-WCAC selection, Qayden is wired to score at all three levels and poised for a breakout summer that could catapult him even higher up the national rankings.
His sister, Qandace Samuels, leads the charge on the girls’ side as the highest-ranked female athlete in Roam Series history. Fresh off winning both the WCAC Championship and the MD Private School State Basketball Tournament, Qandace dropped a game-high 30 points in the state title game—proving she shines brightest when the lights are on.
Darius Bivins, another First Team All-WCAC and First Team All-State (Virginia) selection, made a massive impact after transferring to Bishop O’Connell. With elite poise, vision, and pace, he delivered a master class at the point guard position all season long—firmly establishing himself as one of the top floor generals in the country.
Prince-Alexander Moody, the explosive backcourt running mate of Qayden Samuels, earned Second Team All-WCAC honors and flashed dominant stretches at the point guard position. His size and shiftiness make him one to watch this summer as he continues to elevate his game.
Jamaal McKnight Jr., just a sophomore, wowed with his elite athleticism and physicality. A dynamic lead guard with poise beyond his years, Jamaal is entering the offseason locked in and ready to make that leap on the national stage.
After the success of this past Roam Series and with plans already underway for the third installment this fall, we’re looking ahead with excitement and high expectations.
This Roam Series has proven it’s more than just a series—it’s a movement.
